For more than seventy years Laconia Electric Supply, Inc. has been dedicated to the growth of both our customers and employees by offering the highest value in products and services in a timely manner, from a courteous, professional and well educated staff with the ultimate goal of total customer satisfaction.
The company was established in 1932 as Laconia Electric Shop in Laconia New Hampshire and initially operated as an electric motor repair facility and an electrical contracting business involved in commercial, industrial, and residential installations. In 1943 Eldred Shaw purchased what was then named Laconia Electric Company.
The first of Eldred’s sons joined the company in 1962 and his second son joined the company in 1966. In 1968 the company was incorporated in the state of New Hampshire under it’s present name Laconia Electric Supply. In that same year, it was decided to terminate both the repair and contracting businesses enabling us to devote our entire effort to the electrical wholesale distribution industry. The tremendous success of wholesale electrical sales prompted its first branch location to be opened in July of 1984, in Plymouth, New Hampshire. As the company and the region prospered, the decision was made to open a second branch location in October 1987 in Conway, New Hampshire. Continuing to grow into the 90’s an additional branch, located in Littleton, New Hampshire, was added in August 1995 Our fifth and most recent branch location was opened in Wolfeboro New Hamphsire in August of 2004.
Laconia Electric Supply, Inc., still family owned and operated with the third generation joining the company in 1994, has grown to become a predominant electrical wholesaler in Central and Northern New Hampshire and many surrounding towns in Vermont and Maine.
